If you’re keeping up with my YT videos then you’ve probably seen this BlogTV Comedy Spoof collab video we did with a bunch of other YouTubers. I’m posting the link in case you missed it. This is the kind of project that makes me wish for better editing software and a more powerful computer. Yes, it’s time for both. I’ll get there.
Even if you’re keeping up with my YT channel, you still may not have seen the following video by vanillawave4peace (I call her Niller, as in ‘nilla). She, PBX and I had breakfast with one of our favorite YouTubers last week: SHAYCARL. He was in Los Angeles for business and was able to squeeze a few free hours to visit with us. So you know, he’s as charismatic, personable and intelligent as his online personality.
The following video is Niller’s concept. PBX and I helped with production but that’s about it. Niller edited the entire thing herself. It’s really good - and so funny! You can watch it here but if you have a YouTube account, please click the link to leave her a comment on the video. She would love that! This stuff isn’t easy. And she made it look really easy.
Short film produced and co-written by Paula Bird. Starring Jack Serino, Trish Monaco and Piper (yes, the dog). The video is very dark because of digital rendering and uploading to YouTube. But you’ll get the point, I’m sure.
I’ve been working like a mad-woman. When I’m not working I’m writing, editing, recording or watching videos. When I’m not doing that, I’m hanging out by our new pool. Kind of an adult-style kiddie-pool. See how the pool got from the store to our backyard. What can I say, we’re having fun!
Special MrazSpaz delivery for Heather, Donna and all friends, past and present. Thanks for your reminder of truth. Cheesy lip-sync video for your viewing pleasure. I can only imagine the hater-comments and low ratings I’ll get on YouTube from all the other little MrazSpazzes. Ah well. All in fun!
I’M YOURS - performed by Trish Monaco
Music & Lyrics by Jason Mraz
At the risk of turning this into a full-on Jason Mraz Stalker blog, I’m only going to post this one final Jason-entry … this week.
Jason Mraz, his managers, his record label and all of his corporate overlords are redeeming themselves (with me anyway) as I see the WINNER of a Jason Mraz Bebo Competition? Um, what competition? Bebo is like the only social network I don’t belong to. Does that figure or what? It doesn’t matter. The competition is over and here is the winner. He did a nice job with the song “I’m Yours” (because it’s basically an unplugged version - the only way this song should be heard) — it’s an entertaining video as well. Congratulations to Paul Bullen whose (great) music is getting a good hit today, thanks to this win. THAT’s what community is all about. Way to go Jason Mraz, Inc.
I’ve been playing this song for years. I’ve covered this song in my living room. I was considering recording this cover for my YouTube channel. But if everyone is covering it, then it loses its specialness. So maybe I’ll put it away for a while and let it re-emerge sometime down the road. My 45th birthday perhaps?
There are plenty of other Jason songs I’ve been playing with. I guess I’ll pull one of those out of the box and see what I can do with it.
I’ve been missing and longing for the intimacy of just a few hundred in a crowd at a Jason show. I don’t want to share him with thousands (at just one show). I can’t imagine the millions throughout the world. Makes me sad to think I’m just a grain of sand in his fanbase. I also don’t like to call myself a fan.
That said, I’m still subscribed to the Official Jason Mraz YouTube Channel, his MySpace blog and I periodically check in with his website to see if he blogs something different in different parts of the web.
I’m a spaz. I finally received my SHAYCARL t-shirt. I’m thrilled but it’s a little anti-climactic because he already sold a bunch and people have posted them online. The winners of the contest were supposed to have received the “first shirts ever given to the public.” Well, I suppose, that’s technically right. Mine was free (with a lot of hard work). Others actually spent their hard-earned money on shirts and caps.
I’m grateful though - very grateful! Shaycarl is the first YouTube personality that I became a fan of. Actually, he’s like the only one I’m a fan of. I don’t like to be a fan of many. I like being part of the community and interacting and all that. It’s different from being a fan.
Anyway, enjoy Freeepeace Ninja: Episode One- No one gets between freeepeace and her shaycarl t-shirt.
I was feeling a little reluctant to play the other night. If you’d like to read more about that, you can do so here. If you’d like to skip the drama and get to the show, here’s how the opening song went … plus a little taste of something more at the end.
