How Does this Look to You?

June 14th, 2008 by Trish Monaco

I’m wondering how many of you view my blog in Internet Explorer. I rarely use IE so I didn’t notice that the right sidebar is hanging out at the bottom of the page - in no man’s person’s land.

I use Firefox, religiously. So that’s where I’ve done all of my testing. But one of my clients is all about Microsoft so when I visited my site from his office, that’s when I noticed the viewing catastrophe.

I also have a test blog that uses the exact same coding as this blog (for testing purposes) and it views just fine in IE and Firefox. I’m rarely on a Mac so I haven’t viewed any of my sites on Opera, Safari or other Mac-friendly browsers. Guess I should change my practices and test on as many as possible.

I’m not sure why this is happening in IE. But if anyone has any suggestions, I’m up for the challenge.

I just tweeted an offering of a free mp3 to the first person who’s able to tell me why the sidebar is at the bottom. I don’t expect to hear much. I may have 60 followers but only about 3 actually follow me.

To me, there looks like plenty of room for the sidebar to fit - on any browser. But that’s because I’m a wysiwyg kinda gal.

Suggestions anyone?

UPDATE:  It appears I owe myself a free mp3!  By removing a single link from the LEFT sidebar, the right sidebar reappeared in the appropriate position.  Don’t ask me how.  I just went widget by widget.  It’s all trial and error over here.

Email me to let me know if you have trouble viewing this page and what browser you’re using.  Thanks.

Trouble with blogging

January 20th, 2008 by Trish Monaco

So I’m just realizing some of you will get to read this post - and some of you won’t. Those who get to, will also get to comment (if you so choose). Those who can’t read this, don’t know what they’re missing.

I’ve received panicked emails from friends and family on my whereabouts. I’m thinking everything on my website is moving along smoothly because I can see the recent posts.

However, some computers, some people, some places, can’t read anything beyond a previous post. And unfortunately that leaves some people wondering if I’d fallen off the earth on our drive cross-country. To make matters worse, their comments are disintegrating into thin air. I receive the email with the comment. But when I click the link to the entry, there are no comments.

So, if you can read this post, PLEASE leave a comment or send an email, so I can try to crack this mysterious case.

I’m tired of focusing on site glitches. Hopefully that will change soon. I’m getting quotes from web designers and others to help me with this stuff.

For now, listen to samples of the new CD I just posted in the left sidebar … that is, if you can view that too. Who knows what other glitches we’ll find along the way.

Oh, I do know these posts are visible in Bloglines…so the feed works.

Anyway…

And We Are Back!

December 12th, 2007 by Trish Monaco

If you tried to access Peaces yesterday you may have noticed the dead-end error message - with no other forwarding option. There was a password discrepancy that I did not authorize.

Yes, baby’s first hack.

It seems my password was changed and two email addresses had been created. We assume this was for spamming purposes.

So if you received an email from the trishmonaco.com domain in the last twenty-four hours, please disregard it.

If you’ve come here because of an email you received from this domain in the last 24 hours, please note:

There is no porn here.

You will not find ever-lasting Viagra.

And this site will not (intentionally) help you enlarge any body parts.

That said, I’m immensely grateful that email was the only (obvious) form of foul play. My files seem to be in tact and the reset was a breeze once we figured out who to contact.

Anything can happen. I’m learning as I go. If you notice strangeness around this site, please email me (see sidebar) and I’ll look into it.

Thanks all.

Newness

October 8th, 2007 by Trish Monaco

I’ve spent the entire long weekend (very long) working on music, website design and blog transferring (whatever the actual terms are). I have no idea how any of it will work.

I know some (many) have my blog on site readers, feeders and such. So if you have trouble reading, viewing, accessing, commenting or anything else pertaining to this site, please email me.

To make things more efficient in the longrun, I’ve integrated (almost) everything onto my website. I’ve worked on a new website template that I think may have to be dumped. It looks fun and great but may not be functional in the way I’d like.

I’m absolutely exhausted. My eyes burn. My head aches. I’m filled with fatigue and about to cry. I get way too engulfed in these things. I did not see the day of light all weekend.

I spent a few hours Friday night recording my songs for the engineer and bass player. I have yet to upload and send them.

Anyway, I’ll be tweaking this site for the next few months. So this is just a beginning. Let me know what you think.

The new path to my journal/blog, J2P is: trishmonaco.com/blog

please note, the rest of the new website isn’t up and running just yet. Just the blog.

myLot Buttons

February 25th, 2007 by Trish Monaco

Okay myLot friends. Here are some homemade buttons for your blogs and websites. See what happens - I asked and you shall receive.

Here’s how it works - you copy/paste the button onto your own computer then upload it somewhere (flickr, yahoo pictures, your own website, etc). THEN you link to it using your own referral information.

Do not link directly to/from these buttons as they are connected to my referral page and I would receive all of your referral cashola. I would deserve it too - since linking to an image from someone else’s website is a huge no-no in the web-world.

As you can see, I got really carried away with colors and sizes. I wanted options - so you benefit!

The buttons are free to use (made by yours truly) but I would appreciate a link back or a high-five. Something letting me know you care. Thanks. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I’m no pro but I’ll do my best to answer.

Have fun. See you on the boards!

Peace.
